Golf Swing Basics – The Number 1 Hitter

For those of you who are not familiar with the game, golf is a sport where people use different kinds of clubs to hit different balls on a specific course as quickly as possible. The object is to make as few swings and as few shots as possible without taking your ball from the tee box. If you are a beginner player, the first thing that you need to know about playing golf is that it is one of the most strenuous sports there is. Unlike other sports that require you only to be strong, golf involves a lot of strength and flexibility training as well. For those of you who are not too used to exercise, it may seem a bit difficult to do a lot of golf exercises. However, this is absolutely necessary since golf is also a physically demanding sport.

Just like any other game, golf also requires the golfer to have good coordination between his feet, hands and shoulders. One of the most important things a golfer needs to be perfect at is striking the ball with the right swing. Different kinds of golf clubs are employed for striking the ball including irons, woods, wedges, and drivers. The golfer should always use these kinds of clubs depending on the kind of surface he is hitting the tee off of, and the height of the tee off.

When striking the ball with your irons, the best way to position your body is to put your hips in a straight line facing the target. If you want to hit your irons with the largest number of swings, then place your hips in line and slightly forward so that you will have the greatest amount of power in hitting the ball. For example, if you are using your number one irons, your spine should be perpendicular to your target and your shoulders. For the number two irons, your spine should be perpendicular to your target but your shoulders should be slightly bent so that more of your weight can be concentrated on the balls of your feet. For the number three irons, your spine should be perpendicular to your target but your shoulders should be slightly bent and your feet should be about twelve inches away from the target line.
